Camden CX-ED2079 Universal Low-Profile Electric Strike

Flexible 12/24V Access Control for Cylindrical Locksets

The Camden CX-ED2079 is a universal low-profile electric strike designed for cylindrical locksets in commercial access-control applications. It supports 12/24V AC or DC operation, field-selectable fail-safe or fail-secure functionality, and horizontal strike-body adjustment for easier alignment during installation.

Three included stainless-steel faceplates allow the strike to accommodate ANSI square, hollow-metal, and wood-door frames, reducing the need to order separate faceplates for common installations.

Key Features

  • Universal Low-Profile Design — Fits applications where frame depth and installation space are limited.

  • Designed for Cylindrical Locksets — Features centerline latch entry for compatible cylindrical locks.

  • 12/24V AC or DC Operation — Provides flexible compatibility with common access-control power supplies.

  • Selectable Fail-Safe or Fail-Secure Operation — Can be configured in the field to meet project requirements.

  • Non-Handed Design — Works with left- or right-hand doors for simplified ordering and installation.

  • Horizontal Adjustment — Allows the strike body and faceplate to be aligned with the lockset latch.

  • Three Stainless-Steel Faceplates Included — Supports ANSI square, hollow-metal, and wood-door frame applications.

  • 1,000-Pound Static Strength — Provides dependable holding strength for commercial installations.

  • 50-Foot-Pound Dynamic Strength — Built to withstand impact at the doorway.

  • High-Cycle Endurance — Factory tested for 700,000 cycles and UL verified for 500,000 cycles.

  • Continuous-Duty Operation — Suitable for applications requiring prolonged electrical operation.

  • AC or DC Performance — Produces an audible buzz with AC power and operates silently with DC power.

  • UL 1034 and UL 294 Listed — Tested for use in security and access-control applications.

  • ANSI/BHMA A156.31 Certified — Meets recognized electric-strike performance standards.

  • 5-Year Warranty — Backed by Camden Door Controls.

Three Faceplates for Greater Installation Flexibility

The CX-ED2079 includes three stainless-steel faceplates for common frame types:

  • CX-ESP1B: ANSI square, 4-7/8 × 1-1/4 inches

  • CX-ESP3B: Hollow-metal door frame, 6-7/8 × 1-1/4 inches

  • CX-ESP4B: Wood-door frame, 7-15/16 × 1-7/16 inches

This multi-faceplate package helps installers adapt the strike to different door-frame configurations without purchasing separate components.
